Indoor Air Quality Monitoring in Washington
Seattle and the rest of Washington have earned a reputation for rainy weather, but that’s not all that residents have to deal with. Wet winters and dry summers can both impact indoor air quality throughout the state, and smoke from wildfires can find its way into any home or business and make breathing difficult. Wouldn’t it be nice if your property’s ventilation components could detect signs of poor indoor air quality and improve it on their own? With an Overture™ system installed, they can. Overture IAQ’s automated indoor air quality monitoring systems handle everything from air data to air control so you don’t have to.
The Automated IAQ System
Overture™ is the only indoor air quality monitoring system on the market that can do more right out of the box than just measuring air quality. Once the system is installed, it connects with compatible systems by way of 24V dry contacts, 120V outlets, and Smart Wall Controls. Its programming allows it to automate equipment without any third-party integrations. And with Room Sensor, Smart Plug, and Wall Control components already integrated, Overture™ is a true turnkey solution anyone can use to get healthy air without the effort.
How Overture™ Measures Indoor Air Quality
When Overture™ is active, it’s constantly monitoring five key indoor air quality levels:
- CO2, which is one of the key indicators of ventilation performance
- PM2.5, tiny particulate matter that can stay suspended in air for long periods
- TVOC, or total volatile organic compounds that fluctuate throughout the day
- Humidity, which is important to have under control in the PNW’s climate
- Temperature, which provides context for all of Overture™’s indoor air quality measurements
Once installed, the Overture™ system can activate compatible systems located in any room for targeted indoor air quality improvement. For example, if wildfire smoke enters a home and affects the air quality, Overture™ communicates with the HVAC system to activate its “recirculate” mode.
Ventilation systems that are compatible with Overture™ systems include:
- Bathroom exhaust fans
- ERV boost modes
- Range hoods
- Dehumidifiers
- Make-up air systems
- Forced-air blowers
Residential & Commercial Indoor Air Quality Monitoring
Overture IAQ has developed scalable, automated IAQ solutions for residential and commercial purposes. Tracking the indoor air quality across 500 commercial locations throughout Washington is just as simple for users as measuring the IAQ of just one single-family home in Vancouver. Here’s how it works:
Residential Indoor Air Quality Monitoring
Homeowners will use the Overture™ app to receive real-time indoor air quality measurements and keep track of the Overture™ system’s actions. Through the app, a user can access reports, alerts, and system activity at a single home or at up to 10 different locations in a small residential portfolio.
Overture IAQ’s state-of-the-art IAQ monitoring system works for:
New-Construction Homes
Home builders and contractors are always trying to stay on top of the latest energy efficiency solutions. Overture™ is a natural fit for a brand-new home with mechanical ventilation systems, especially in an area such as Washington with a highly eco-conscious population.
Older Home Retrofits
Updating an older home to meet modern standards for comfort and energy efficiency is easier with Overture™. This is because Overture IAQ’s systems are far easier to install than an entirely new HVAC system would be. Just plug it in, set it up, and enjoy healthier air.
Commercial Indoor Air Quality Monitoring
Keeping track of indoor air quality levels across dozens, if not hundreds of locations can seem like a daunting task. Overture™ makes it simple no matter where you’re monitoring from. Overture IAQ’s commercial indoor air quality monitoring systems are highly scalable, giving you the ability to measure IAQ across more than 500 locations (and as few as 20). Our commercial systems use a web-based interface that includes a user-friendly Google Maps dashboard view.
Overture™ systems are used in many different types of commercial properties throughout Washington, such as:
- Office buildings
- Schools
- Dormitories
- Assisted living communities
- Strip malls
- Military housing
- Small offices
- Healthcare centers
- Multi-unit residential properties
Overture IAQ’s Vape Alert Technology
Indoor vaping is a common problem at schools, dormitories, offices, and other commercial properties. It may smell more pleasant than cigarettes, but the vaping particles aren’t much better for people. Luckily, Overture™ systems can help building managers correct indoor vaping issues more quickly thanks to their integrated Vape Alert technology. If Overture™ detects these particles in the air within any room, it will notify building managers immediately so they can take action.
Take the Next Step Toward Better Indoor Air Quality
Overture™ systems give residential and commercial users the power to fully automate indoor air quality improvements by measuring CO2, PM2.5, TVOC, humidity, and temperature, and then activating ventilation equipment as needed to maintain healthy IAQ levels. Best of all, it’s a turnkey, plug-and-play solution that’s scalable, customizable, and capable of doing it all right out of the box.
