Overture® measures your air and acts on it. The Overture Room Sensor continuously measures your home's indoor air quality (CO2, PM2.5, TVOC, relative humidity, and temperature) and shows you the current outdoor conditions too. When it sees a problem, Overture takes an action: it can turn on a bath fan, switch an ERV to boost mode, turn on a range hood, start a dehumidifier, or run the forced-air blower to circulate and filter the air. You set it up and control it from the Overture app, then let it run in the background.

The Part No Other Sensor Does

Most air quality monitors stop at a reading and a notification. Overture is the only IAQ system that reads the air, runs its own analysis of that data, and then acts on it through its own 120 V switch, 24 V dry contacts, and fan switch replacement. It is wired into the equipment your home already has, so when a threshold is crossed it turns on the bath fan, boosts the ERV, or runs the blower on its own. You are not handed an alert to act on. You come home to air that has already been corrected.

What Drives Poor Indoor Air?

Our daily activities, and the materials in our homes, push indoor air quality down. Indoor air can run several times more polluted than the air outside. These pollutants can aggravate asthma, trigger respiratory issues, and make daily life miserable. The ones Overture tracks, in order:

CO2 - an odorless gas from combustion and from people breathing, and it climbs fast in occupied rooms. It is not acutely toxic at household levels, but cognition, focus, and sleep quality measurably decline as CO2 rises. Overture's carbon dioxide set point is adjustable from 600 to 2,000 ppm and ships at 1,000 ppm, so you can set it low and let the ventilation follow the room.
PM2.5 - particulate matter up to 2.5 micrometers across (roughly 30 times smaller than a human hair), small enough to reach deep into the lungs. It comes from gas stoves, fireplaces, wildfire smoke, and combustion sources nearby. PM2.5 carries roughly 80% of the indoor-air health load.
TVOC - total volatile organic compounds, the human-made gases that off-gas from manufactured products, finishes, cleaners, and scented products.
Humidity - measured by dew point. When the dew point of the air is high and it meets a cold surface, you get condensation and the conditions for mold and microbial growth. ASHRAE puts the indoor dew-point ceiling at 60 °F.
